February 2010

We learned a lot about road safety during the past week. We visited this website to learn some more: HERE>>>>>

In January we made “My Favourite Things” books. We wrote about our favourite things. We wrote about our favourite food, our favourite holiday, our favourite sport, our favourite dinner, a pet we would like to have and what job we would like to have when we grow up. We drew pictures and coloured them in. We designed the front cover and wrote the title of the book and the authors name.We only had three days to finish the book. We displayed our books on our classroom wall. We had lots of fun making the books.

We made pictures out of cardboard. The cardboard was circular. We were re-using the cardboard for our art work. We had to use our imagination to make the picture we wanted. Some people cut the cardboard and made other shapes from them. We glued the shapes onto an art page. We left them to dry for a few days. Then we painted them. It was really fun. We all had a great time.

Last week we made food pictures. We were doing Bia in our Gaeilge work. We made them out of lots of different types of food – marshmallows, kidney beans, pasta, rice, lentils, peas, Coco Pops, wafers, Frosties, Rice Krispies, Cornflakes, spaghetti and raisins. It was fun making the pictures.
